Solva is a wonderful place to sail and we are one of very few centres whose sailing area is located on the open sea. It is challenging and sometimes difficult sailing, but the rewards are great.  We work to maximise our strengths by offering tuition to small groups of people and specialise in offering a unique opportunity for competent sailors to broaden their experience and hone their skills.

Flexibility is the key.  Working round the tides and assessing weather conditions are core skills for enjoying our magnificent St Bride’s Bay sailing area. Safety is a major consideration: all sea-sailing takes place with a safety boat in attendance and if we think the weather is unsuitable we will not go, and you pay nothing.

All our activities are run to order and customised to be suitable for the group’s abilities.  For this reason, we are unable to run courses for individuals – minimum numbers are three people for beginner’s courses and two people for all other courses.

Contact us with your requirements and we will come back quickly with a quote.   It always helps if you can give us brief details of your dinghy experience or RYA qualifications.

If you have dinghy experience, try one of our popular short sails – two hours sailing including assistance with rigging and launching, briefing, and help with recovery.  You will need to bring your own crew.
